AI will scale fastest where trust already exists. Only 16% of consumers would allow AI-driven auto-replenishment. Just 31% are comfortable with AI-powered payments. But 57% trust AI to compare prices, and 53% trust it to find deals. Consumers are warming to AI as a shopping assistant. They're not ready to hand it their wallet. That gap — between AI as helper and AI as agent — is where most brand strategies are currently breaking down. And it shifts dramatically by region: 56% in the Middle East are comfortable with AI-powered payments, compared to just 26% in Europe. AI will scale fastest where trust already exists.
