Last week we welcomed back five of the founding figures who helped shape the early vision for European Spallation Source ERIC, and played pivotal roles in the collaborative process that brought Europe’s most powerful neutron source to Scandinavia 🇸🇪🇩🇰 Colin Carlile (first Director General of ESS), Allan Larsson (Sweden’s Chief Negotiator for ESS), Lars Leijonborg (former Minister for Higher Education and Research and ESS negotiator), Lars Börjesson (early scientific advocate and current ESS Council representative), and Harald Lindström (former Financial Director at Region Skåne). Their visit was a chance to reflect on the ESS journey from concept to reality, and the enormous progress made since the scientific, technical and economic case for the new spallation source in Europe back in 2002. Beyond advanced engineering, scientific credibility, and international collaboration, ESS is built on long-term vision, political consensus, and sustained commitment across multiple levels of society. 👉 Read more on our website https://lnkd.in/dBTJdUGX
