🚀 FREIA is rapidly taking shape! Installation and integration work advances across the instrument with teams from European Spallation Source ERIC and ISIS Neutron and Muon Source STFC working together on multiple systems. During a walkthrough led by Clara Lopez, ESS Senior Mechanical Engineer, visiting ISIS team members saw the progress first hand, including: • High-speed chopper testing • Detector infrastructure installation • Cable pulling beneath the false floor • Preparation of the instrument cave and sample environment systems • Ongoing integration and system testing One of the most noticeable changes is inside the instrument cave, where major support structures are now in place for future beamline and sample systems, including the hexapod setup that will precisely position samples during experiments. 🇸🇪🇬🇧The visit highlighted the close collaboration between ESS and STFC teams.
