🇧🇷 On Friday, ESS welcomed the Ambassador of Brazil to Sweden, Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis, and her delegation (Embassy of Brazil in Stockholm and Roberta Perez) for their first visit to the facility. The visit was hosted by Kevin Jones and organised by SKADI engineer Tamires Gallo, and the wider programme also included stops at MAX IV Laboratory Lund University and Tetra Pak. The visit featured tours of the main control room and the SKADI instrument cave and hutch. Alongside the technical programme, it highlighted the contribution of ESS staff with Brazilian backgrounds. ESS currently has 41 staff members with roots in Brazil, contributing to the organisation’s expertise and international profile. The visit concluded with a fika, bringing together the Ambassador and some of the Brazilian staff members. In her address to staff, Ambassador Reis acknowledged the contribution of Brazilian professionals at ESS, thanking them for sharing their knowledge internationally and supporting scientific progress across borders. #EuropeanSpallationSource #ESS #NeutronScience #InternationalCollaboration
