🌱 We were delighted to collaborate with students from Lund University School of Economics and Management on supporting the development of ESS’s first operational Double Materiality Assessment (DMA). Laura Berger, Jose Villanueva, Hendrik Reeps, and Lucas Starkloff from the Master’s programme in International Strategic Management worked closely with ESS to identify and analyse the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) topics relevant to an international research infrastructure. Their work addressed both: 🌍 Impact materiality: how ESS activities may impact stakeholders, society, and the environment 📈 Financial materiality: how sustainability-related risks and opportunities may influence ESS’s operational resilience and long-term strategic objectives. As ESS continues its transition towards operations, these perspectives are increasingly important in guiding sustainable decision-making and long-term strategic development. Congratulations to Laura, Jose, Hendrik, and Lucas on an impressive achievement! Thanks to the LUSEM staff for the excellent collaboration and thanks to everyone at ESS who supervised and supported the students throughout the projects. 📷 In the photos: Laura, Jose, Hendrik, and Lucas and ESS staff: Raquel Costa, ESS Science Coordination Officer, Ola Dahlborg, ESS Head of Environment, Safety, Health and Security, and Wolfgang Hees, ESS Senior Engineer.
