A new milestone in the long-standing partnership between the ESRF and the Université Grenoble Alpes Yesterday, the ESRF and the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking an important step in strengthening a partnership that has been built over decades. Signed by Jean Daillant, Director General of the ESRF, and Yassine Lakhnech, President of UGA, in the presence of Michèle Daran, representing the City of Grenoble, the agreement sets out an ambitious framework for deeper collaboration in three strategic areas: - Education, expanding joint training initiatives, including co-funded PhD projects through the France 2030 GATES (Grenoble Attractiveness and Excellences) programme, increasing student access to ESRF facilities, and developing new educational opportunities in synchrotron science. - Research, advancing scientific collaborations to address major societal challenges, from health through the Human Organ Atlas project involving Département Anatomie / LADAF, to climate change, environmental research and cultural heritage. - Innovation, reinforcing cooperation on data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning, while fostering co-innovation with industrial partners.   Building on complementary expertise and a shared international ambition, this renewed partnership will further strengthen Grenoble's position as one of Europe's leading ecosystems for science, innovation and higher education.
