Yesterday concluded 4 life transforming years as Consul General for Denmark in Bengaluru. It has been an honor and a privilege to represent Denmark in India - the world’s most populous country and fastest growing major economy, where everything is moving with a speed and a scale that is difficult to comprehend. From green transition, over healthcare, to digitization - Denmark and India has a lot to offer each other and the potential is huge. I have gained enormous inspiration from and respect for the people I’ve met along the way - visionary and courageous individuals who chase not only their own dreams, but those of an entire nation. A special thanks to Freddy Svane, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Soren N, Kannik-Marquardsen, Ulrik Jørgensen, Søren Tranberg Hansen and Jakob Williams Ørberg - your generous leadership, guidance a sparring along the way is truly and deeply appreciated. Also a huge thanks to my fantastic team at the consulate and Innovation Centre Denmark Bangalore, the Trade Council South Asia team, honorary consuls, and all friends and partners across government, diplomacy, industry, and academia - your continuous support, collaboration, and friendship has been absolutely incredible and I wish that our roads will cross again. Until then, I hope that you will continue the very strong cooperation with my fantastic successor Peter Winther-Schmidt, who assumed the position as Consul General of Denmark in Bengaluru today. The future for Indo-Danish bilateral relations is bright. Today a new chapter also begins for me in Copenhagen and I’m very excited to start in my new role as Team Leader - Cleantech in Invest in Denmark at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. I’m excited about strengthening my relationships with the many stakeholders in Denmark’s thriving cleantech sector, and I look forward to be at the epicentre of Denmark’s Foreign Affairs and get my daily inspiration from all the extremely talented and dedicated colleagues. A few final reflections on “Why India Matters” in the link below.
