Last week marked the launch of the Home Energy Saver loan program. The ESC is responsible for overseeing the $480 million initiative on behalf of the NSW Government and has committed an initial $100 million to inaugural finance partners Brighte and Plenti to support its rollout across NSW. Home Energy Saver loans provide zero-interest, no-fee finance to help eligible NSW households install approved energy saving upgrades. Working with partners like Brighte and Plenti is critical to delivering the program at pace. Their scale, capability and network will help make these upgrades more accessible to households across the state. Delivering NSW's future energy system requires investment across the whole system, from large-scale infrastructure to consumer energy technologies. As electricity demand grows and the generation mix changes, consumer energy resources are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting reliability and reducing pressure on the grid. Expanding access to these technologies is an essential part of building the energy system NSW will need now and into the future.
