On Thursday, 2nd of July 2026, our Network Technicians came together for a fantastic day of competition, teamwork and learning at the Network Technician Team Challenge in the ESB Networks Training Centre in Portlaoise. The challenge was designed to showcase the technical expertise, problem-solving ability and collaborative spirit that our Network Technicians demonstrate every day while maintaining and developing Ireland's electricity network. Teams competed across a range of practical tasks and scenarios, including one surprise task, putting their skills, knowledge and teamwork to the test in a safe, engaging and competitive environment. It was impressive to see the professionalism, innovation and determination on display throughout the day.   Events like this are about more than competition. They provide an opportunity to share knowledge, learn from one another, strengthen connections across teams and celebrate the vital role that Network Technicians play in delivering a safe and reliable service for our customers. A huge congratulations to all participants, organisers, judges and support teams who helped make the event such a success, and a special congratulations to Team South Central the winning team overall.
