ESB Networks has reached an important milestone at Dock Road 38 kV Station in Limerick, with the successful installation of the first of two new transformers. Once fully commissioned, the upgrade will deliver 27.5 MVA of additional network capacity, enough to support approximately 7,000 homes, including facilitating the electrification of heating and transport. All the while helping to meet growing electricity demand across Limerick city and enabling future housing, business and economic growth. This project forms part of our wider investment programme to strengthen Ireland’s electricity network and support the transition to a low-carbon future.
