Conversations are one of the most important ways to keep children safe online – especially when they lead to practical steps that protect them 💬👪    That is why it is so important for parents and carers to understand how these harms can occur and what steps they can take to prevent them 💻🎮📱    eSafety, police and researchers are reporting increasing levels of online sexual abuse each year. In Australia, research shows that 1 in 13 young people have experienced sexual images of themselves being shared without their consent, and 1 in 6 have been sexually groomed by an adult. We also know that many of these incidents of abuse go unreported.    By regularly talking with your children about their online experiences using age-appropriate language, you create a safe environment where they can share concerns, ask questions and seek help when they need it.    Visit our website for advice and resources to help you keep the online safety conversation going: https://lnkd.in/gx-hDSR2
