🚦 How can Earth Observation support more resilient transport planning across Asia and the Pacific? Last week in Bangkok, ESA’s Global Development Assistance (GDA) Transport and Infrastructure activity presented the prototype Climate Exposure Dashboard for Transport at the Environmentally Sustainable Transport Regional Meeting and Capacity-Building Workshop. 🛰️ Developed with the Asian Transport Observatory and IABG, with support from ESA GDA and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the prototype shows how geospatial information can complement existing transport indicators by highlighting where major road infrastructure intersects with flood-prone areas across 21 economies. 🤝 The presentation also reflected growing interest from development finance partners in how Earth Observation can support more climate-informed infrastructure planning. As Jamie Leather, Director of Transport at ADB, noted: "As countries work to strengthen infrastructure resilience, understanding where transport networks intersect with climate risks is becoming an essential step toward climate-informed planning." 🔗 Read more in our latest news item: https://lnkd.in/eCK_5ejf #EarthObservation #Transport #Infrastructure Christoph Aubrecht, Yves Barthélemy, Fabio Cian, Alex C., Giulia Costella, Piera Di Vito, Nikola Fuksa, Kristin Fleischer, Carlotta M., Peter Schauer, David Taverner IFI Partners: Asian Development Bank (ADB), EBRD, Inter-American Development Bank, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), The World Bank Group Caribou, CLS Group (Collecte Localisation Satellites), German Aerospace Center (DLR), e-GEOS, IABG, IGN FI, LiveEO, SpaceKnow Inc., TRE ALTAMIRA
