For one of our customers, Erwes Reifenberg developed a combined Spout Closure and Measuring Cup solution for edible oil packaging. The article was developed together with the customer, transferred into a mold concept and successfully brought into production. Today, the mold is running. But for us, this is only part of the story. When it comes to spouts, there is not only one possible technical route. Several solutions can lead to a working part. Geometry, sealing areas, flow behavior, opening function, dosing, handling, assembly and long-term mold performance all have to be considered together. In this field, there are many ways to Rome — but not every way is equally safe, robust or suitable for high-volume production. This is where experience matters. At Erwes Reifenberg, the target is not simply to build a mold that runs during sampling. The real target is to build a mold that runs safely, reliably and for a long time under real production conditions and higher quantities. Especially with functional packaging components such as spouts and measuring cups, small details can make a big difference. A geometry that looks acceptable in the data set can later create issues in sealing, dosing, demolding, cycle stability or mold wear. That is why we do not only look at the article itself. We look at the full production logic behind it. For this project, our experience in closure molds, functional packaging and robust German mold making was essential. The result is not just a molded part. It is a production-ready solution designed for stable series production, long mold lifetime and reliable performance in the customer’s application. This is the kind of project where Erwes Reifenberg creates real value: not by choosing the easiest route, but by choosing the route that works safely in the long run.
