Okay, okay, I jest, but in tonight's UTNY Program's Inside the Arts of NYC, actor/dancer/writer/advocate Jamal Story shared with us how to move through the world as an artist, and social media is, for better or worse, part of the equation. Jamal is passionate about making sure artists have the knowledge they need to be healthy and successful; like how to present yourself on social media (your posts are forever!), manage your multiple 1099's and W2's so you don't get taken to the cleaners, and how to take care of your body and mind in a grueling discipline like dance. He also divulged some of the differences in working across genres, like the Met Opera, Broadway, concert dance companies, and with entertainment icons like Madonna and Cher.
