I've been thinking a lot about the difference between building a company and building a community. They're often treated like they're the same thing. They are not. Companies are often rewarded for scale. Communities are sustained by trust. And trust doesn't automatically increase just because the audience does. That doesn't mean I don't want Hype Women to grow. I do. It means I'm no longer willing to pursue growth that requires sacrificing the very thing I'm trying to build. Sisterhood isn't something you scale. It's something you steward.
