I use AI. But AI does not replace strategic conversations. It doesn't replace the judgement that comes with experience. Inspired by Melissa Milloway who goes above and beyond to support our learning and development industry by innovating and showing her work. By Heidi Kirby, PhD who grounds the conversation that AI doesn't replace experienced instructional designers, I am starting a short series. So what is the goal? To show how I’m using AI in my work today in a way that’s practical and honest, without losing what makes the work effective. While there is a lot of talk about speed right now (build faster, create more), our challenge is really about clarity. What problem are we solving? Is training the right solution? Are we willing to pivot or decline when it isn't? Can we demonstrate impact and ROI? AI doesn’t answer those. We do. Keep an eye out for my first micro-tip on how I use AI during a learning needs analysis.
