Public 5G now serves more than 100 sports and entertainment venues in the US. At the 2025 American football final, 5G traffic ran 3:1 ahead of Wi-Fi, with Wi-Fi volumes dropping by half. The shift to 5G as primary venue access is under way. For communications service providers, the business case runs deeper than fan experience. Venue revenues represent 27-57% of total income for professional sports leagues.
