An interesting fact from the history of construction: Over 2,000 years ago, the Romans used pozzolans – natural volcanic materials – in monumental structures such as the Colosseum in Rome. When combined with lime, they formed hydraulic binders that could set even underwater. This technology was crucial to the remarkable durability of many Roman structures, some of which still stand today. What was once ancient ‘high-tech’ lives on in modern cement and concrete applications. Even today, pozzolanic materials remain indispensable for improving durability and workability, as well as reducing CO₂ emissions in the construction industry. This is where we come in: by processing and recycling industrial by-products, we produce high-quality cementitious additives (SCMs) that improve performance and sustainability, thereby supporting a more resource-efficient circular economy. Ancient engineering meets modern material innovation. #SustainableConstruction #CircularEconomy #Concrete #SCM #MaterialInnovation #CO2Reduction #ConstructionHistory
