This week, Enterprise Ireland's Trade Mission to Manchester showcased Irish innovation, investment and expertise to the North of England. Led by Minister Niamh Smyth TD, the mission brought 40 high-growth Irish companies together in the region, spanning construction, engineering, digital technology, manufacturing and the creative industries. The Trade Mission followed the announcement this week that Enterprise Ireland client exports to the UK reached a record €11.1 billion, up 10%. The aim of the Trade Mission was to deepen the already strong economic relationship between Ireland and the UK, while supporting Irish companies to expand, invest and build long-term partnerships in one of the UK’s most dynamic regional economies. Enterprise Ireland client companies are doing more than exporting to the UK, they are becoming deeply embedded in regional growth, contributing to major projects, local supply chains and job creation. The Trade Mission programme highlights that impact in action, from new office openings and contract wins, to site visits, industry engagement and participation in key events such as Global Offshore Wind. A Business Leader's Lunch took place at Manchester Hall where we were joined by Councillor Bev Craig and Councillor Gavin White. The North of England is now a key hub for Irish business, and this trade mission is about strengthening those connections even further, supporting growth on both sides of the Irish Sea.
