Cheers to Monday and a new week and I couldn't celebrate it in a better way than this! I just pulled out my last bottle from Domaine Engel Fernand, a Pinot Gris Vendanges Tardives. You know how I love a great sweet wine! There were so many things happening in the last month in my personal life and I am happy that everything is now settled a bit more and I can focus on wine tastings again. This late harvest PG is a great way to get back on track! Let's see those tasting notes! The wine has a lovely medium deep golden color with a medium plus viscosity. On the nose ripe exotic fruits dominate (mango, pineapple) with lemonpeel, apricot, acacia, honeysuckle and a hint of ginger. As I mentioned, the wine is sweet with a high acidity, medium alcohol and a medium plus body. The palate shows flavours of pineapple, passion fruit, apricot, honey, ginger and a little bit of lemon with a very long finish. For me it is an excellent quality which drinks well now and the next 10-15 years as well. Serve it on 8-10°C. I would definitely pair it next to creamy and soft cheeses, all sorts of desserts or have it on its own at the end of the day. Do you like sweet wines or prefer the drier style? #wine #winetasting #winemarketing #winebusiness #wineindustry #winelover
