Love this photo as an opener. Baby mid-bath, unaware he's about to become a World Cup star. Us mid-career, unaware who we're training with today. Nobody knows what they're building yet. The breeder revolving door is honestly one of my favorite quirks of this industry: We're walking germplasm archives. Move from a vegetable house to a row crop company and back, and you're carrying decades of "why we made that cross" in your head. No database has that. You do. We know exactly who we're up against. Half my "competitors" are people I trained with, or judged the same nursery rotation with, back before either of us had "senior" in our title. Fierce competition, zero grudges. We've seen each other mess up too many times. It's a small world with a long memory. Turnover doesn't scatter this community, it condenses it. Everyone's alumni network eventually overlaps with everyone else's. So... is this heading toward a post for the next generation?
