Same girl. A year apart. Not many people talk about the difficulties of finishing uni 🎓 Yeah you heard me, it’s tough. The girl in the first photo was so incredibly terrified and afraid of the future. Tired and tested after a long 4 year degree. Rejection after rejection. Anxiety infused. Yet still no resolution. It’s exhausting, mentally and physically. I wanted nothing more than to kick start my design career, I wanted to have a job lined up as soon as I finished Uni and I wanted everything to be all sunshine and rainbows. Unfortunately, not everything goes our way. Fast forward a year later. Not in a design career. Still no idea what I’m doing with my future. Is the road still scary? Not really Am I the happiest I’ve been in a long time? 100% Do I enjoy my current career? Hell yes. A career I didn’t think I’d find myself in, but glad I did. Moral of the story: sometimes the plan we have set in ourselves isn’t always the plan that should workout. Rejection is merely a redirection So, to all the uni students and recent graduates. Don’t let rejections discourage you. You will find your path. As scary as it may be, there is a little excitement in the unknown. And to all hiring managers, those junior roles/entry level roles should be considered for graduates and people with a year or less experience. Think about it. They’re eager, willing, determined, fresh eyes and ideas. It’s pretty much self explanatory ✨ #graduatestudents #marketing #recruitment #designcommunity
