Behind every tutu on stage is up to 80 hours of skilled work.   “Standing in the English National Ballet’s costume department, then, faced with shimmering tutus for their upcoming production of The Sleeping Beauty, I am suddenly eight years old again... fairytale princesses exert an eternal pull.”   For our recently performed production of Sir Kenneth MacMillan's The Sleeping Beauty, Emily Watkins of The i Paper went behind the scenes with English National Ballet's costume department to see how our designers and dressmakers craft bespoke costumes built to withstand the demands of an incredibly athletic art form - from hand-applied sequins to emergency fixes backstage.   Full read here: https://lnkd.in/eNNgfasz
