ENGIE and IGNIS have signed a long-term flexibility purchase agreement covering several Battery Energy Storage System projects across Spain, with a total installed storage capacity of 625 MWh. Expected to become operational in 2028, the projects will provide ENGIE with access to the flexibility offered by the batteries in the day-ahead electricity market over a ten-year period, while IGNIS will operate the facilities, optimize their participation in balancing services and secure the revenues generated by the assets. By storing electricity during periods of high renewable generation and releasing it when demand increases, these batteries will help reduce exposure to market volatility while supporting the flexibility, stability and resilience of Spain’s power system. 🔎 Official press release: https://lnkd.in/eNUAYhZt ENGIE España
