EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT — Chris Magyar Duke Fleet Valve Manager | 26 Years in Nuclear | ~ 1 Year with EnergySolutions Chris Magyar is a nuclear industry veteran and hails from Harlem, Georgia, and serves as Duke Fleet Valve Manager with EnergySolutions Nuclear Services. He didn't know what a nuclear outage was when a friend first recruited him back in 1999 — he was building log homes at the time. That curiosity launched a remarkable career, working his way up from valve tech through AOV operations, diagnostic testing, engineering mods, project management, and technical support on the Vogtle Units 3 & 4 project before landing in his current role. In the approximately 12 months he has been in his current role, Chris has supported seven Duke Energy outages — hitting the ground running from day one with a strong focus on planning, coordination, execution, and nuclear safety culture. "Building relationships with Duke Energy management and our valve people — and being able to execute excellence for our nuclear clients. That's what I love about this job."
