Update to the Animal Effluent Management Method: Extended Crediting & New Opportunities The Australian Clean Energy Regulator has released a variation to the Animal Effluent Management Method, extending the crediting period to 15 years for solid separation and biogas projects that flare or generate electricity. This update directly benefits 26 active projects currently registered under the method, as well as any new eligible projects going forward. To register a new project under the Animal Effluent Management Method, businesses must: ✓ Treat waste from a piggery or dairy that would otherwise be disposed of in an anaerobic pond ✓ Restart or install solid separators ✓ Meet the general ACCU Scheme eligibility criteria At EnergyLink Services, we partner with producers to: ✓ Assess feasibility and model ACCU revenue ✓ Manage the design, procurement and implementation of new methane capture, flaring, or biogas‑to‑energy systems ✓ Manage ACCU registration, compliance, and reporting under the Carbon Farming Initiative Act and the Methodology With extended crediting periods, high energy prices, and increasing challenges with grid reliability, now is an ideal time to explore effluent‑to‑energy opportunities.
