Australia has endorsed the new global “35% electrification by 2035” target ahead of COP31. Australia has spent the last decade focused on how to generate clean electricity. The next decade may be defined by where - and how - that electricity is used. Backed by IEA and IRENA analysis, the target aims to nearly double electricity’s share of final energy demand from around 20% today to 35% by 2035. The focus is clear: shifting transport, buildings, and industrial processes onto clean power. For businesses and facilities already investing in energy efficiency and clean technology, the direction of travel is now clearer than ever.  The case isn't just environmental - it's economic: ● Lower exposure to volatile fossil fuel prices  ● Improved energy security  ● Greater productivity from more efficient technologies Better positioning in low-carbon supply chains and export markets  For those of us working in energy - whether in auditing, metering, or industrial optimisation - this is the context shaping every project going forward. It’s the foundation for electrifying fleets and process heat, and reinforces the value of work already underway. In many ways, this ambition validates and strengthens the direction our company is moving in.  Read more: https://lnkd.in/eRtEmwqH  #Electrification #EnergyTransition #COP31 #CleanEnergy #Australia #EnergyEfficiency
