☀️Reflections from Kakuma-Kalobeyei: Navigating the Shifting Landscape of Energy ➡️In April 2026, the GPA team, alongside partners including the County Government of Turkana, NORCAP - part of the Norwegian Refugee Council, Mercy Corps, Last Mile Climate, and Mwangaza Light, travelled to Kakuma and Kaloebeyei to assess the region’s evolving energy landscape. Home to over 300,000 people, the region is shifting from fragmented humanitarian support toward market-based solutions. With 80–90% of households still reliant on biomass, the challenge is significant, but the momentum for change is accelerating. ✅ To dive deeper into the key takeaways from our mission, we are kicking off the week on #WorldRefugeeDay with our latest blog post. Join us as we highlight insights from four thematic areas: the transformative impact of private sector mini-grids, the acceleration of the clean cooking transition, key takeaways from our local business roundtable, and the strategic path forward through coordinated policy and planning. Follow along to learn how we are working together to improve sustainable energy access in displacement settings.📢 SOLCO Partnership Elif Gül Demir, Joelle Hangi, Iwona Bisaga, PhD, Paul Quigley #HumanitarianEnergy #GPAEnergy #EnergyAccess #Kakuma #Kalobeyei #SustainableEnergy #EnergyTransition #SDG7
