We've released a map showing what could come next for the Yallourn site. Yallourn has powered Victorian homes for more than 100 years, and the power station will keep generating safely and reliably right through to closure in mid-2028. We're also planning early for what happens after. The map sets out four sites where new energy projects and data centres could be located as part of the proposed Yallourn Energy Security Precinct. We're investigating up to 300MW of gas-powered generation, up to 2.7GW of new battery storage, and land for two 1GW data centres. Using the grid connections, gas pipelines and skilled local workforce already here means the Yallourn site could keep playing a role in Victoria's energy future, and in the Latrobe Valley economy, well beyond the coal era.
