"If you can't stop and think about how lucky you are to live on this beautiful country, come on, what is going on?" — Shelley Ware That was Shelley's challenge to us all when she spoke to us as part of National Reconciliation Week. Reconciliation starts with the simple gesture of showing gratitude, consistently, for the Country beneath your feet. Shelley's conversation with us felt like the perfect note. Honest, at times confronting, and everything this week should feel like. She's spent decades at the intersection of AFL, media, and education, speaking plainly about racism, truth-telling, and using every platform she's had to push for real change. Helen Maqueen, our transformation leader, summed up what many of us felt: "She confronted me with my own privilege but inspired me to do better in my allyship." Thank you Shelley Ware for your honesty, your energy, and your challenge to all of us to do better.
