We are proud to share that Professor Frede Blaabjerg has been awarded an honorary doctorate by Aalto University in Finland. This distinction recognizes a lifetime of outstanding leadership in Power Electronics — a field that underpins key technologies such as wind turbines, solar energy, and Power-to-X solutions. Frede Blaabjerg’s research has fundamentally shaped how we convert and control electricity in modern energy systems, enabling more efficient and sustainable energy use worldwide. 🎖️ With an exceptional record of high-impact publications and global citations, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential researchers in his field. He already holds honorary titles from institutions in Timisoara, Tallinn, and Parma — and now Aalto University. As part of the ceremony, he will deliver a inaugural speech titled: "Power Electronics Research – from curiosity driven to society demand".
