Join us for the PhD defense of Yongjie Liu, who will be presenting his research on “AI-assisted Fault Diagnosis and Condition Monitoring for Power Electronic Components and PV Arrays” 🎉 Yongjie’s research focuses on ensuring the safe, and reliable operation of photovoltaic (PV) systems by improving how critical components are monitored and maintained. These components such as PV arrays, DC‑link capacitors, and power semiconductor devices are exposed to long-term electrical, thermal, and mechanical stresses, making them prone to degradation and failure. 📌 His thesis develops advanced methods for: ·      Fault diagnosis to detect failures early ·      Condition monitoring to understand component health in real time ·      Remaining useful life prediction to estimate how long components can continue operating safely Overall, the thesis supports the digital transformation of power electronic systems and contributes to more reliable, efficient, and economically sustainable PV systems.
