How can advanced diagnostics improve fuel‑cell durability and reliability? 🔋✨ 🎓 PHD DEFENCE BY DAN YU🎓 We’re excited to invite you to the PhD defense of Dan Yu, who will present her dissertation: “Application of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy in Online Data-driven Diagnosis of a High-temperature Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell” on March 23, 2026! 🎉 High-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (HT‑PEMFCs) hold strong potential for clean hydrogen energy, but their performance is limited by system degradation. Dan Yu’s PhD develops EIS‑based, data‑driven methods that diagnose and monitor fuel‑cell health during operation. Her work shows that EIS with machine learning can: · Identify operating faults and internal degradation · Detect mixed‑fault conditions · Predict key indicators like hydrogen crossover current and electrochemical surface area (ECSA), even though they cannot be measured during operation · Deliver real-time health insights to improve long‑term reliability Overall, the results demonstrate the strong potential of machine‑learning‑assisted EIS for online fault diagnosis, degradation analysis, and health monitoring in HT‑PEMFC systems. ⚡️ 📅 Date: March 23, 2026 🕒 Time: 13:00-16:00 📍 Location: Pontoppidanstræde 101, 9220 Aalborg East – Room 1.001 / Online participation available.
