The latest EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) report (https://lnkd.in/dtRHujaA) is a welcome step forward for Europe's electricity markets. The team at Energy Traders Europe is pleased to see many of our own proposals reflected in the final publication.   For the South-East Europe (SEE) region, the path forward is clear: deeper market integration and stronger regional harmonisation must take centre stage. We support measures to unlock additional cross-border capacity and improve market efficiency: ⚡ Full implementation of the 70% minimum capacity requirement and stronger RAM provisions in SEE. ⚡ Enhanced re-dispatching and countertrading frameworks, supported by effective cost-sharing methodologies. ⚡ Greater coordination in network modelling, outage planning and operational processes between Central Europe and SEE. ⚡ Expansion of market coupling and flow-based capacity calculation and allocation across day-ahead and intraday markets. ⚡ Removal of remaining market design barriers, including licensing challenges and liquidity constraints. ⚡ Increased deployment of demand response, grid-scale batteries and flexible pricing structures to support system flexibility.   Short-term optimisation measures alone will not solve the structural challenges facing the region. The persistent price signals observed across SEE indicate a pressing need for substantial investment in both generation and grid infrastructure, both internally and across borders. Strengthening interconnectivity, accelerating permitting procedures, improving regional planning coordination and delivering congestion-relief projects must be priorities.   The success of the energy transition in SEE depends on closer cooperation among countries, better alignment of market and system planning and a shared commitment to building a truly integrated regional electricity market. Our recent Integrate by '28 report sets out this ambition in detail. 🔗 See our contributions here: https://lnkd.in/eyxQWqsu #Integrateby28 #ElectricityMarkets #EnergyTransition #MarketIntegration #EnergyCommunity #PowerMarkets #GridInfrastructure #Interconnectors #MarketCoupling #EnergyPolicy #SouthEastEurope
