Since 2006, the average Pennsylvania electric consumer has used less electricity but has still seen bills rise, according to a forthcoming EEA and Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) report on utility rates in the Commonwealth. Data also shows that the average energy generation charges on utility bills rose 23% since 2020. With PJM’s latest auction prices set to be released next week, this analysis underscores the steady climb in electricity prices for major electric utility customers in Pennsylvania.
