šŸ”‹ Global grid-scale BESS deployment reached 4.5GW / 12.8GWh in April 2026 alone. Data courtesy of Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, reported by Energy-Storage.News as part of their monthly global deployment roundup (May 14, 2026). → 4.5 GW / 12.8 GWh — large-scale BESS deployed globally in April 2026 → 2.5 GW / 7.2 GWh — China's share, representing over half the global monthly total → 537 MW / 861 MWh — European deployments in April, including a 40MW/80MWh system from Centrica in Sweden → 647 MW / 1,765 MWh — Asia (ex-China), partly driven by Adani Group's Khavda solar-plus-storage project in India → 591 MW / 2,613 MWh — South and Central America, with Chile alone reaching 5 GWh deployed in the first four months of 2026 The first phase of Adani Group's Khavda solar-plus-storage project in India came online during the month — one of the larger individual project contributions outside China in April. If monthly deployment rates at this level are sustained through 2026, BloombergNEF's full-year forecast of 158 GW for global energy storage deployments becomes increasingly achievable. At Energie Haus GmbH, we provide independent, vendor-neutral BESS consulting and transformer solutions for developers, utilities, and industrial clients across Europe.
