How sustainability ambition contributed to a BREEAM Official “Very Good” certification: the Highbay TK01 project. 🏢 For the Highbay TK01 project, Alheembouw delivered a state-of-the-art 23,000 m² industrial facility in Dunkirk for Clarebout, now part of Simplot, a global leader in frozen potato products. The decision to pursue BREEAM certification reflected a strong focus on enhancing building performance, supporting sustainability outcomes, and creating a positive working environment for employees, while also delivering long-term operational value. During the design and construction phase, the project experienced several scope changes that challenged the feasibility of certification. Encon and Alheembouw supported the project team by re-evaluating opportunities, refining priorities, and maintaining close collaboration across stakeholders. Thanks to a flexible and solutions-oriented approach from all parties, the facility achieved a BREEAM “Very Good” rating.
