Day 2 of Expansion Joint Training wrapped up today. Working side by side with contractors, designers, and consultants on real installation sequences, using actual systems and tools, reinforces the value of collaboration across the entire project team. Engineered expansion joint systems perform as intended when design intent and field installation are fully aligned, alignment that is developed and reinforced through sessions like this. Attendees worked through joint preparation, sizing, and placement across a range of real-world conditions. The discussions that emerge around edge cases, substrate variability, and field constraints are exactly where strong partnerships with contractors, consultants, and designers make the biggest impact. We also had a great group of trainees, engaged, thoughtful, and asking the right questions throughout. That level of participation is what makes these sessions valuable for everyone involved.
