Effective governance of the ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซโ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฒโ๐ ๐จ๐จ๐โ๐๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ (๐๐๐ ๐) ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฌ is essential for managing complex resource trade-offs and ensuring long-term environmental sustainability. In our recent paper published in ๐๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐จ๐ณ๐ข๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐๐ฏ๐ท๐ช๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ด๐ด๐ฆ๐ด๐ด๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐จ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต, we address this critical issue by mapping the intricate ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ค๐๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐ฒ๐ง๐๐ฆ๐ข๐๐ฌ within the Porsuk Watershed. Through an integrated approach ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค ๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ค๐๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ, our research reveals how fragmented management structures and isolated "in-group" collaborations currently hinder cross-sectoral synergies. Notably, this study marks the first time in the literature that the ๐๐๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ข๐ง ๐๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค has been incorporated within the scope of the WEFE nexus. Ultimately, our findings highlight the urgent need to bridge the coordination gap between central authorities, downstream actors, and the scientific community to foster more resilient watershed management. The authors wish to dedicate this work to the memory of ๐๐ซ๐จ๐.๐๐ซ. ๐รผ๐ฅ๐ฌ๐๐ซ ๐รถ๐ค๐ฌ๐๐ฅ, who passed away in January 2026. In the early stages of this study, Prof. Kรถksal played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the work and encouraged us to develop what initially appeared to be a modest work package into a comprehensive and distinctive contribution to the literature. We remain deeply grateful for her insight, mentorship, and inspiration. We extend our sincere appreciation to the 50 stakeholders who participated in the interviews conducted between July 6, 2022 and October 21, 2022, as their time and engagement were invaluable to this study. This work was supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Tรผrkiye (TรBฤฐTAK) under the project titled โA New Approach for Sustainable Water Management: Integration of the Circular Economy Approach to the Framework of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexusโ (Project No. 121R014). A huge thanks to our brilliant co-authors Ece Demir, Ezgi รzdemir, Irem Yapan, Buse Berfin Kart, esin yandฤฑmata, Yasemin Demir, Pinar Derin Gรผre for making this research possible.
