Since 2022, we’ve proudly supported Open Homes Nottingham, helping young people experiencing homelessness take their first steps into a new home. Through EMR funding, more than 49 people have received support with essential household items and a first food shop during one of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. It’s the kind of support that can be easy to overlook, but impossible to underestimate. As Gemma Landers, Young Person Lead at Open Homes Nottingham, explains: "Partnerships like the support we receive from EMR are vital in helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness. Being able to provide essential household items and a food shop when someone first moves into accommodation removes immediate financial pressure and gives them stability at a crucial time." One service user put it simply: "It was really helpful and it stopped me from worrying about getting everything straight away." Real stability has to start somewhere. We’re proud to play a small part in helping people move forward.
