𝐌𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬. He was studying Medicine. I was studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The topic? Which course was tougher. He listed sleepless nights memorising anatomy. I countered with circuit analysis at 2 AM. He mentioned histology slides. I raised him electromagnetic field theory. Back and forth. No winner. Then it hit us both at the same time. 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒔. Today, we are both graduates. Two disciplines. One mission. Fix what is broken and keep things running. Whether you are debugging a power system or diagnosing a patient, the mindset is the same: observe, analyse and solve.
