Still taking this in… our Queens University Belfast ACS winning Best Small Society of the Year at the SU Awards 🏆 A huge thank you to Queen's Students' Union for putting together such an incredible night, and for inviting, recognising, and celebrating us in this way, it really means a lot. Thank you as well to everyone who has partnered with us along the way to help bring our vision to life. And of course, to all of our members, you are at the centre of everything we do, and this wouldn’t be possible without you. I’m so grateful for my committee. Having Nesochi Okezie-Enyioma and Abi Leverett leading us has meant everything. The way you’ve guided us with compassion, giving each of us the space to grow into our roles and bring something of ourselves to the society has been so special. Tinodiwa Matemera you’ve been incredible at making sure we’re present in the rooms where it matters, constantly advocating for us and building the kind of connections that have really helped elevate what we do. Ryan Kansiime Mugisha has kept us grounded the whole way through. From keeping the books in order to making sure none of our moments go uncaptured. Katso Lesley Keti brings such a genuine warmth to everything, not just in light and laughter, but by the way you consistently check in on people and create a sense of care and community that really defines who we are. And Tahhan Mawji , truly the man behind the music, always knowing exactly what people need. You were the perfect final addition ! The award is amazing, of course, but honestly the real honour has been stepping into this committee with all of you. That’s what I’ll carry with me the most. 💫
