I’m beyond thrilled to share that I’ve received a First Class Honours degree in Biochemistry from Newcastle University! 🎓🧪✨ A highlight I’m especially proud of is my dissertation, “Inverted Duplications: Causes and Consequences”, which scored 79% overall with the written component scoring 81%. I explored the mechanism behind the formation of inverted duplications - a type of chromosomal abnormality- and developed a screening tool capable of identifying small molecules that could potentially prevent their formation. It was a genuinely fascinating area to work in and building something with real translational potential made it all the more rewarding. A big thank you to my supervisor, my lecturers, and friends for the support throughout my years at Newcastle. I have loved my time studying at Newcastle university and can’t wait to celebrate at my graduation next month. #biochemistry #graduation #womeninSTEM
