LEGAL BATTLE: A Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned Nollywood actor Emeka Ike’s N10 billion fundamental rights suit against Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and INEC until July 22. The court granted the adjournment to allow INEC to appear after the commission was absent despite being served with hearing notices. Ike is challenging the alleged publication of his voter registration details on X, arguing it violated his constitutional right to privacy and the Nigeria Data Protection Act. He is seeking N10 billion in damages, the removal of the post, and a public apology. INEC has maintained that the incident was not caused by external hacking, but by the alleged misuse of authorised internal credentials.
