Last week I told you that your resume settings can affect how you show up in recruiter searches on LinkedIn. This week I'm telling you how to clean things up: In case you missed it, here's the TL:DR from last week: πŸ‘‰ LinkedIn can save your uploaded resumes and use that data to recommend jobs, suggest profile updates, personalize your feed, and improve AI models. πŸ‘‰ Recruiters cannot see every resume you’ve uploaded, but LinkedIn may still use the data from those saved resumes to understand you. πŸ‘‰ So if your saved resumes are old or written for jobs you don’t want anymore, you may be sending LinkedIn mixed signals and not showing up in recruiter searches. Now, here's how to clean this up: STEP 1: Go to SETTINGS & PRIVACY --> DATA PRIVACY --> JOB SEEKING PREFERENCES and look for two settings: 1) Save resumes and application data 2) Share resume data with recruiters STEP 2: Delete old resumes that don't align with the roles you're targeting: β€’ The old resume from before your pivot. β€’ The generic resume with outdated skills. β€’ The resume targeting the job you don’t even want anymore. Get rid of them. STEP 3: Upload your most current and relevant resume(s). If you're targeting Project Management and Operations roles, then upload your Project Management resume and your Operations resume. STEP 4: Check your LinkedIn profile against your uploaded resume(s): β€’ Are the dates the same? β€’ Are the job titles the same/similar? β€’ Are the same skills keywords emphasized? STEP 5: Now toggle those settings on: 1) Save resumes and application data 2) Share resume data with recruiters Your resume and LinkedIn profile work together to influence how you show up in recruiter searches. Keep it all aligned. How many old resumes do you see in these settings? Someone last week said they deleted 20+ resumes (I think it was 25?) I'm rooting for you. πŸ‘Š β™» Please save + repost if you think this advice will help others. ***** Hi, have we met?
