A special evening in Riyadh 🌙 Last night, I had the privilege of attending an EO Riyadh event as part of my time in Saudi Arabia. One of the unexpected highlights was reconnecting with Seral Sofi whom I originally met through Women of EO in Korea over a year ago! It’s always powerful to see how EO brings global connections full circle. We were lucky enough to visit the studio of Abdulnasser Gharem ,an extraordinary Saudi artist whose work bridges art, society, and power in compelling ways. Gharem is not only one of Saudi Arabia’s most prominent contemporary artists but also a lieutenant colonel in the Saudi army. His work is deeply thought-provoking, blending conceptual clarity with cultural commentary. His iconic piece Message/Messenger made history in 2011 when it sold for a record-breaking price at auction in Dubai, but hearing him speak about his process and purpose was even more impactful. His commitment to education, mentorship, and creating space for emerging artists in the region is inspiring. It’s moments like these that remind me why art and cultural exchange truly matter — how creativity becomes a universal language that transcends borders and sparks connection. I’ve felt surprisingly at home here in Riyadh. There’s a warmth, openness, and curiosity among the people that I’ve found both welcoming and familiar. The Saudi sense of humour even reminds me of home in Australia. I’ve laughed a lot! I’ve also felt safe and respected while moving around the city, and it’s been a joy to explore both its cultural depth and creative energy. #Riyadh #ArtPharmacy #CulturalExchange #AbdulnasserGharem #WomenOfEO #EOGlobal #SaudiArt #Leadership #ContemporaryArt #CreativeEconomy Seral Sofi Mulhim Almulhim Ziyad Organji 🇸🇦 زياد اورقنجي Organiji Helmi Natto Raed Bairagdar, CPFP, WM Gilbert Rustom Dina Amin Dr. Charalampos (Haris) Chaitas Todd Miller Dr. Sarah Hill Sara Al Mohsin Hamad Alsaleh Rudwan Batterjee
