Global Head Seedcare and Biologicals
I discovered a few days ago that, in a single sandbox experiment, we can scan the roots of 480 plants… and the image analysis takes just a few minutes! This is one of the things I value most in my role: the constant opportunity to be amazed and to learn something new. Recently, I visited our Syngenta Crop Protection R&D Center in Stein, near Basel, with my leadership team. Walking through the labs, I felt the same sense of wonder I had as a student visiting a science museum, only now, as a leader, I’m humbled by the depth of expertise of our scientists, who work every day to develop innovations that make farming more efficient. Our Research team shared how they are advancing nutrient use efficiency (NUE), using AI to accelerate predictive science in biologicals development, and exploring new technologies that could transform biocontrol solutions as well as that go beyond seeds protections to ensure the right conditions for the development of stronger young plants. Seeing first‑hand the science behind our seed treatment and biological products and the passion of our teams to create solutions inspired by nature was truly inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to all the colleagues in Stein for their dedication and for reminding me that science is made of countless hours of study and research, with a sparkle of curiosity and creativity. This is one of our most powerful drivers of innovation. Did you know that soils also have a memory? That’s another fascinating thing I learned in Stein labs. #Innovation #Agriculture #Biologicals #Seedcare Jérôme Cassayre Paolo di Lernia Andreea Popa Maria Bondareva Christian Schlatter Marc Hillard Will Salter Matt Pickard Laszlo Laczko Norton Chagas Leo Zappe Zaida María Andrés González Alessandro Bergna Kathrin Thor Silvia Brochet Nuria Bonilla Ruiz Florin Nitu Charline Soraru Jens Schröder
