The combination of AI and quantum computing will help us tackle some of the biggest problems we see, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai said at Davos 2020. Quantum computing technology has promise. It could improve the computing of artificial intelligence models, and it could impact many sectors, including healthcare, energy, finance, security, and entertainment. Recent studies predict a multibillion-dollar quantum industry by 2030. But understanding quantum computing is not easy, it’s a complete change of mindset and involves lots lots of math. This course from the Saint Petersburg State University helped me to understand some of the fundamentals and think about tangible applications. I also recommend this short read from HBR: https://lnkd.in/gRuC53V What’s exciting about quantum computing is that it will allow us to understand the world in a deeper way. Nature at a fundamental level works in a quantum way – at a subatomic level things can exist in many different states at the same time. Classical computers work in 1s and 0s, so we know that’s an imperfect way to simulate nature. #quantumcomputers #supercomputers #quantumphysics #artificialintelligence #machinelearning #encryption
