At the Clean Energy Business Council MENA (CEBC)'s MENA Water-Energy Nexus: Innovation, Diversification & Resilience in DIFC two weeks, someone described a fuel cell that powers a data centre, makes its own water, and concentrates its own carbon for capture. It exists. It's in the market. You cannot buy it — the only producer is sold out. The bottleneck wasn't the science. It was bankability. That's the thread running through my new article, read alongside AirTrunk's paper Financing the Future. The technology for sustainable data centres is largely on the shelf. What's missing is the finance to deploy it — and in the Gulf, where these are now sovereign infrastructure built in gigawatts, that gap is the whole game. What actually strands a data centre asset, why the GCC fleet we already have is the baseline that makes performance-linked finance bankable, and how AirTrunk built it deal by deal 👇 https://lnkd.in/ePBaNs6k #SustainableFinance #DataCentres #GCC #DigitalInfrastructure #EnergyTransition Emerald Advisory Clean Energy Business Council MENA (CEBC) AirTrunk
