Today is the International Day of the African Child, a reminder of the fundamental right to health and well-being for every child, from the moment they take their first breath. In sub-Saharan Africa, 40-50% of children under 5 are not reaching their full potential due to limited access to quality childcare and exposure to multiple infections, including neglected tropical diseases such as schistosomiasis.
